Friday
Following a busy week in the office, Friday felt like a more relaxed day from the huge projects the interns and I were carrying. I came into work a little later than usual, since I had stayed pretty late the day before, and a bit after I arrived, everyone in the office headed over for a free Slurpee at 7-Eleven! Unfortunately, a lot of their flavors weren't working, but I found one I enjoyed. After work, the HEP/CAMP crew and I headed over to Virginia to one of my favorite Hot Pot places- Happy Lamb, which was a bit overwhelming since there were so many of us sharing one pot, but it was just as good as the one in Seattle!
Saturday
Today, the CHCI, HEP/CAMP interns, and I were in Maryland for a big part of our day doing group volunteering with an immigrants' rights advocacy organization in Montgomery County. We canvassed through Brown-populated areas and shared Know Your Rights cards with people while they were going about their day. This was a new experience for me, but it was something amazing since many people were interested in knowing about their rights. After canvassing, a group of us tried to go to the GWU pool, but the weather struck down our plans.
Sunday
Today I took the beginning of my day as a rest and reset day, by sleeping in more than usual and doing some cleaning while hanging out with my fellow Washingtonian friend, Brandy, from CHCI. After I got ready and met up with some friends to eat Thai food at Dupont Circle, which was so good and involved really good laughs. We then decided to get some ice cream before heading over to the dorms to watch the Love Island finale, and played one of my favorite card games, Speed. Week 7 was hectic, but it also involved some great memories, which I will carry with me once I finish the internship!
