Professional Development

Mentoring Initiative

OME created the Coaching Initiative to connect program directors, coordinators, and other program staff with a link to successful and experienced directors who provide guidance and share best practices on any given aspect of a program's management.

An OME Coach is a person with good communication skills, strong skills in providing feedback, demonstrated proficiency in grant management, and ability to share from professional experiences to assist other professionals with challenges. As a thought partner and resource, a Coach advises HEP and CAMP project directors on solutions and strategies to address project issues. A Coach is assigned one to two topics relating to: Eligibility and Identification and Recruitment; Student Services and Coordination; Student Placement and Continuation; Administrative Management; Program Implementation; Evaluation; Budgets; and Preparation for Site and Desk Review/Audits.

Each Coach is available via telephone, webinar or virtually to assist HEP and CAMP project directors as needed.
