Erica Alfaro, M.Ed

Erica supports HEP and CAMP students because she knows how important it is to have mentors who help support students from families who work in agriculture. “Even though my parents never went to school and they barely know how to read or write, they always told us that it was important to get a good education.” She has powered her way to earn a Master's degree as a single mother with resilience, determination, the support of mentors, and the support of her parents who work in the tomato and strawberry fields of California.

As a first generation college graduate and now second year medical student I owe much of my success to peer and academic support programs such as CAMP and TRIO.
