What is the National HEP/CAMP Association Internship Program?
The internship was instituted by the Association Board in 2005 and two interns were selected for Rep. Hinojosa’s office and the Office of Migrant Education in 2006. The eight week internship program is funded by the Association, and it includes housing, airfare, clothing allowance, and stipend. It also includes an orientation week and leadership seminars with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 National HEP/CAMP Association’s Summer Internship Program. The tentative dates are June 3- July 28, 2017. The end date may be extended once plans for the ADM are finalized. Expected placements include the office of Congressman Raul Grijalva, Senator Chuck Schumer, the Office of Migrant Education, and the Office of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans.
